The Fifth Element - Aether (Print)

In an art as therapy class, we were asked to create a painting with the four elements - Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. However, I happened to have learned a bit about witchcraft and the metaphysical, so I wanted to incorporate that into my work. The Pentacle, often confused for a Pentagram, has five elements, including one called "aether" or the spirit element. 

This work means a lot to me, and currently hangs in my room. Each "arm" of the star has a representational illustration of the element, and in-between them, I added what my favorite aspect of the element is. For water, I love a rainy day, fire, the smell of a campfire and roasting marshmallows, serene mountainscapes for earth, a beach breeze for air, and most importantly- space for the spirit. An evil eye and rainbow colors showcase both protection and a bit of my own identity. If it's not clear through my art - space is important to me, and so is the symbolism throughout this piece.
